Le Dernier Don
A downloadable game for Windows
In "LE DERNIER DON", you play as Lucie, a young orphan at the end of the First World War, in France. After disobeying the mistress at the orphanage she resides in, she gets thrown into the broom closet to spend the night, whilst the rest of the children celebrate the end of the war.
As she breaks out from isolation, discover what sinister secrets are being held in this scary and stressful environment. You will be navigating through the orphanage, looking for answers in this narrative horror experience.
This game was realized as part of our Bachelor degree's graduation project at the School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design (NAD).

Dans «LE DERNIER DON», vous incarnez Lucie, une jeune orpheline à la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale, en France. Après avoir désobéi la maitresse de l'orphelinat où elle réside, elle est jetée dans le placard à balais pour y passer la nuit, pendant que le reste des enfants célèbrent la fin de la guerre.
Alors qu'elle s'échappe de son isolement, découvrez quels sinistres secrets se cachent dans cet environnement effrayant et stressant. Vous naviguerez dans l'orphelinat à la recherche de réponses dans cette expérience d'horreur narrative.
Ce jeu a été réalisé dans le cadre de notre projet de fin d'études de Baccalauréat à l'École des Arts Numériques, Animation et Design (NAD).

L'optimisation du jeu est relativement mauvaise, tout le reste est bon et je suis curieux de savoir ce que signifient les chiffres sous la boîte de fer?

Although short, I really believe the game is on par with creations like Amnesia and Layers of fear if we shrink down the scope of those titles to match what we see here. I'm in love. The game has a beautiful atmosphere, and there is so much depth and character to the environments. The children are interesting, and there is a lot of creativity and realism in both the models for environment and people. I liked seeing the dev portrait at the end. :) Very fun.
I would love to see more from the team - for a student project this is amazing, perhaps the best I have ever played on Itch.Really cool game! I loved it! Check out my video @ Nostromo_Gaming:
Gave it a Lets Play, I give a LOT of feedback/responses to the game design and crack a lot of jokes :P hope people enjoy, I Really appreciated the level design in this for a game made by graduate students.

FPS is alittle low, I couldnt get it super stable but it was playable
Full Demo NO Commentary
Horrible optimization, for not having that extreme graphics. RTX2070 and a ryzen 9 for the recommended? Cannot run the game on a solid 30 fps on a Ryzen 5 - Gtx 1650.... The game itself is really nice, far better than any indie horror here on itch.io, but the developers should consider quitting if these are the requirements.

This team HAS to stay together to start their own studio and continue this game. It is so unbelievably amazing for a school project. I've played so many game school project games and nothing has come close to this. PLEASE PLEASE finish this game!
I was very impressed with this. The visuals were amazing, the story line was intriguing, the beasts were even more outstanding. I did not want this to end. I want to know more of the story and see more creations. I would vote for this as best indie horror of 2024. Good job

Excellent work here, I can't believe how great this was. The amazing atmosphere kept me on the edge the whole time, there's a lot of excellent subtle horror this. I'd love to see an expanded game about this, showing the horrors of the orphanage at work. I hope you guys keep up this project, you did a solid 9.5/10 here. Phenomenal job!
everytime I go to play the game I get a bunch of color Flaring lines coming from the right side of my screen. I have checked for updates on my GPU but its all updated, and it only happens with this game. I uninstalled the game, re downloaded it and installed again and the same thing happens. I want to make a video of my playthrough. Hopefully I can figure out the problem. Also can you add FOV changer to the settings please!

I have an i9, 3080 and plenty of ram. I just re downloaded my GPU driver, about to try to play it again. Ill be back
Doing the same thing with the lights flaring from the right side of the screen. Maybe it only does it on nvidia GPUs? I want to put this game on my channel but not with this issue. Dang
I have a fix! I was playing on a 3840x2160 monitor but after reducing my monitor down to 2560x1440, the flaring lights disappeared.
Guess the game is not built for a high end resolution.

LE DERNIER DON: Eres Lucie, una joven huérfana francesa en la Primera Guerra Mundial, tras desobedecer a la dueña del orfanato es encerrada en un armario mientras el resto de los niños celebran el fin de la guerra, al escapar de su aislamiento descubre que el orfanato ya no se parece en nada a lo que era e intentará escapar de los horrores que allí acontecen...
